Fractured Tree

Fractured TreeThis black and white photograph of a fractured tree is my entry for this week’s Monochrome Madness Challenge, hosted by Leanne Cole and Laura Macky. I took this photograph during my short visit to Severson Dells Forest Preserve just outside of Winnebago Illinois.

There was just something about the way the light poked through the forest canopy and landed on this tree. I spent some time just admiring this tree from all sides. I find it interesting that these giants of our land can have such large pieces of them broken off and they just keep on growing.

There are many contributors to Monochrome Madness Challenge each week. Do yourself a favor and take a few minutes to look at all the entries. Who knows you may be inspired to join in on the fun. πŸ˜‰ The entire challenge can be found later today on Leanne Cole’s blog. It’s just one click away. Enjoy!
