Heartland Heritage: Week Four

Sunset Barns 02This week I was able to get out more than once to photograph some local barns even know it has been well below freezing. Last Saturday I went for a drive and saw many barns but one property on the outskirts of Kirkland IL caught my attention. There was a slight break in the dreary clouds that had been hanging around for what seemed like the entire month of November.

Kirkland Barns 001The shots of the Kirkland barn are from different sides of the property. It doesn’t look like anyone lives on this farm anymore. I’m looking into it in hopes that I can get permission to walk the property and take some close ups and learn some history of the barns.

Last night was a clear evening and I wanted to get some sunset photographs of some barns. I stayed relatively close to home, so all of the sunset barns are in the Monroe Center area. I’m really happy with the results.

Next Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the U.S. and that Friday is a huge family day in my family. We start in on getting ready for Christmas. I’m not sure at this time if there will be a Heartland Heritage post next Friday. I have a few images that I have not used so I may just do a recap post and try out the timed post feature. I will think on this a little more over the weekend. Enjoy!
