Looking Up

Looking Up

My entry for this week’s Monochrome Madness Challenge is a shot “Looking Up” from the bottom of the frozen waterfall that can be found in Wildcat Canyon at Starved Rock State Park.

It is always good to have a secondary reason to visit a location. I didn’t have a s much success photographing the Bald Eagles as I had hopped for. Lucky for me there are several beautiful waterfalls here as well. As you can see the waterfalls make for wonderful ice formations in the winter time. It has been difficult to hold these photos as long as I have, but I wanted to wait until MMC to release the first photograph.

As usual you will be able to find the entire collection of this week’s Monochrome Madness on Leanne Cole’s blog later today. The challenge was originally started by Leanne and Laura Macky in order to become better at taking monochrome photographs. Each week they invite others from all over the world to show their vision of monochrome works.
