I recently graduated from Rock Valley College in Rockford Illinois, where I earned an A.A.S. in Web Information Technology. I live in a small town in northern Illinois near Rockford. I became interested in photography while taking a required course for my web degree.
As a child and all through high school I was very much into art, mostly pencil drawing and some painting. I never considered that photography was another form of art. I enjoy taking landscape photos and also occasional wild life shots (mostly on accident).
I like to take walks with my trusty pal Lemmy. Lemmy, (named after Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead) is a yorkie-poo that is full of energy and very much enjoys the walks, probably more than I do. On days when heโs not too excited we take pictures of our surroundings. He really likes to be included in all of my adventures, and is unhappy on the occasions that I need to leave him at home.
James, thank you so much for the follow on my wee blog, it is really appreciated. Good luck with the photography when accompanied by the pet dog. My own hound likes to get my attention by coming right up to the lens to block my view or if he is on a lead he likes to go chasing other dogs and humans – no image stabiliser or high shutter speed can offset this. ๐ฑ

Thanks for the recent visit to/follow of my blog. It led me here and I’ve spent some time looking through your posts of the past six weeks or so. I see you live near Rockford and I’m wondering if you’ve ever headed down to the Starved Rock/Mathiessen area? It’s not too far from your neck of the woods and, when the conditions are right, it’s a treasure trove of photographic opportunities.

Actually I have been looking forward to going there. I got into photography a little late to catch the bald eagles over the winter at Starved Rock.

Hello James, thank you for visiting my blog, following and leaving a comment. I’m not a photographer, something where I point and click is about the best I can handle, but sometimes I get lucky and the object I point and click at turns out interesting. Your photography, on the other hand, is wonderful and inspiring. I was looking at some of your pictures and thinking: must include description of something like this in a story. I’m looking forward to many more of your wonderful pictures and thoughtful posts.
