If you would have told me on Friday that on Monday I would be posting a photograph of a White Tail Deer standing in the icy river, I would have said “yeah right”. I think this just came down to me being in the right place at the right time.
Saturday the sun had cracked the clouds a bit and I had been driving back from my aunts house when I decided to stop off and photograph ice forming on a pond. After doing this I walk over to the other side of the small park just to see if there was anything interesting going on in the river.
I took a few photos of some ice forming along a fallen tree limb and was just admiring the flow of the river. It was pretty cold and there was slight breeze. When I turned to head back to the car I saw this young buck watching me from the other side of the bridge. I slowly crept closer and took some shots through the trees as best as I could. I had my 55-300mm zoom lens on and I think this was the best shot of the animal.
Cool! They spook so easily, great work getting some images. They get so still. I feel so loud and clumsy when I start watching deer.

They definitely spook easy. Eventually I would like to save up for a better telephoto lens to make it a bit easier.
